DART announces service disruptions and schedule changes for Labor Day weekend.

From 12:01 a.m. to approximately 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, and during those same hours on Monday, Sept. 3, northbound and southbound train service on DART between Mockingbird and West End stations will be replaced with bus shuttles.

Southbound red- and blue-line trains will operate to Mockingbird Station. Northbound red- and blue-line trains will operate to the West End Station. No rail service will be provided to the following stations during that time: Cityplace, Pearl, St. Paul or Ackard. Two shuttle buses will operate approximately every 10 minutes.

Local shuttle bus service will make stops at Mockingbird, Cityplace, Pearl, St. Paul, Ackard and the West End stations.

Non-stop shuttle service will provide service to Mockingbird and West End stations only for passengers who wish to continue red- or blue-line services northbound (Mockingbird) or southbound (West End).

Please add at least 20 minutes to your travel time, and be sure to check the schedule on any connecting bus routes you may use. As a reminder, DART rail service will operate a weekend schedule, and bus service will operate a Sunday schedule on Monday, Sept. 3 -- the Labor Day holiday.

These service interruptions are necessary so that DART can construct a more direct rail route in and out of the subway under North Central Expressway. In addition to making train trips faster and smoother, this project and modifications planned at downtown stations over the next two years will make the system more convenient and make way for new green-line service, according to DART officials.
