Curious Kitty at the Rheumatologist [Talon - FL Pukisha]

December 30th, 2008 (12:55 am)
drained

current mood: drained

I took Talon to one of my every-six-weeks rheumatologist appointments. In typical cat fashion, he was curious.

T: So, this is where you brought Shuichi one time.
o: Yes. Talis and Nigel have visited, too. Careful. Don't fall into the sink.

T: I'm a cat. I don't "fall".

T: Why can't you get us a big bed like this?

T: I'm cute - how can you resist?

T: This is what onna's bones used to look like... EWWWWW!!!

T: ...and this is what the doc hopes onna's bones will look like in the next few years.
o: Thanks for the tour of my bones, Talon.
T: Any time!

T: Hmm...

T: This is almost interesting reading.

T: Onna! You're OLD!
o: That's what happens with autoimmune diseases, kitty - the machine is older than it should be.

T: At least you're not THIS old, or you couldn't get us more clothing and goodies!
o: Uhm... thanks for that, I think...
T: Though you DO wear silly hats like this guy.

T: The doc will come in that door?
o: Yep.

T: Okay.

T: If the doc doesn't show up soon, I'm gonna take a nap.
o: Thanks for the moon-rise.

T: Sorry 'bout that! But not really...

T: Better?
o: I don't know - you do have a cute butt.

T: Okay, doc! Hurry up and come on in so you can see me!
(Talon was just like this when my rheumatologist walked in and she thought he was adorable.)

Awww I love Pukis! What a cutie! My sister has rheumatoid arthritis and they would keep her waiting a long time for each appointment- so I can see how having company as cute as that helps the time go by!

I like taking a doll with me to play with while waiting.

At least I know the doc is going to take as much time with me as she does with her other patients, and she does spend a lot of time with me to make sure everything is going well, or, if it isn't, what can be done to make things better.

She finds the dolls amusing and knows they help me feel better mentally.

And it's always fun to have a doll playing around in the room prior to the appointment! *laughs*

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, which affects the spine, lower back, chest, intestine and feet.

http://www.spondylitis.org/about/ankylosing_spondylitis.aspx

Ankylosing spondylitis (pronounced ank-kih-low-sing spon-dill-eye-tiss), or AS, is a form of arthritis that primarily affects the spine, although other joints can become involved. It causes inflammation of the spinal joints (vertebrae) that can lead to severe, chronic pain and discomfort.

AS can also cause inflammation, pain and stiffness in other areas of the body such as the shoulders, hips, ribs, heels and small joints of the hands and feet. Sometimes the eyes can become involved (known as Iritis or Uveitis), and rarely, the lungs and heart can be affected.

The hallmark feature of ankylosing spondylitis is the involvement of the sacroiliac (SI) joints during the progression of the disease, which are the joints at the base of the spine, where the spine joins the pelvis.

Thanks! It helps having resin along when I'm there, especially when I'm feeling pain.

What a cute little visitor! I can see why your doctor loved him ;)

I tend to take a dolly friend with me to the rheumatologist as well. I'm always nervous when I go to my appointments- I have Fibromyalgia that's not well controlled yet, and I never know what the doctor will want to say or do next. My little companions always reassure me that, whatever's going on, it'll be okay!

Hug - Eiri and Shuichi

Yeah, it helps having a resin friend along, doesn't it? My main ailment is Ankylosing Spondylitis and I have good and bad days still, but more good days now that I'm on four different meds that layer together make me feel better.

Well I'm glad you're doing better, unfortunately I know all too well what it's like to be in pain so often.

From one ailing dolly owner to the other- may your resin friends always be there to make you smile! :)

The Puki articulation really helps Talon be expressive, but that face is pretty irresistable, too. Do you think you will ever get one? I can see you making adorable little clothes with snippets of antique lace.

Oh, I don't know. Even sewing for the Yo's is challenging, so I can't imagine what it's like for even tinier dolls.*_*

Shuichi in sunglasses

Hi! Yeah, those Puki butts are really cute - not like Hound butts that look like squashed frogs. *laughs*

No problem with the friending! I'd like to friend you back, since your lj has a lot of doll-related posts. This is purely my doll lj, so that's pretty much what you'll get here - resin madness. *laughs*

Throwing my voice in for 'very cute'. My favorite is the "Onna you're old!" picture, it looks just like he's saying that right at you, at that moment. *laugh* Like it's some kind of revelation.

Yes, that's what the photo said to me when I saw Talon pointing at me like that.

Sometimes I have a thread of a storyline in mind, sometimes none, sometimes a full-blown script in my head when I take photos that may become a photostory.
