American Girl fun

March 1st, 2009 (08:12 pm)
tired

current mood: tired

We had a lot of fun having lunch at AG. Our server was VERY accommodating about getting us lots of doll chairs AND even another table so we could have lots of doll chair real estate. Oh, and another server (male) knew us from a-kon and came over to chat a few times!

The food was surprising good! We all got the pretzel bread for our appetizer (yummy!) and everyone got a different main dish. My Panko-Crusted Chicken Breast was delicious and was a large portion with a lovely pile of fresh steamed brocolli (yum!) and (yucky) carrots I passed to _fx.

juliepinetree and party didn't get there until after we finished eating because their TomTom gave them the wrong directions. So we sat around and played with our Zo Army for a little while.

After lunch, we wandered the store a bit (where WERE the rest of you who said you'd be there today?) and we ended up talking a lot with the hair stylists again. They were VERY much interested in our resin but what was interesting is that they helped me figure out how young my Addy doll was - she has a number in the back! She's number 16 of 148 - that's the 16th Addy ever made! Yes, my Addy is old, but very well-kept.

One of the stylists remembers one of our party walking around with a doll perched on her shoulder. It had to either be reddeath or mel back then.

Anyway, it was a great day and maybe we can convince some of you to join us next time.

I live in the NY metro area and have been to AG Place there a couple of times with my daughter and her Josefina doll. The second time, we had tea at the cafe. The food was good and the setting fun. She also went to a workshop on styling your doll's hair. I think she uses some of that knowledge on the almost-life-sized Bratz doll head she has that is made specifically for hair styling.

I'm glad you had a good time.

Hug - Eiri and Shuichi

The only thing a bit crazy was all the 'little' girls. I'm not used to children in general. But I just had my Addy wave at them.

Snoring Pukis

It wasn't supposed to be a mini-meet but it turned into one since everyone who said they'd meet us after lunch didn't show up.

AG is at the Galleria in Dallas/Addison.

Better late then never, right?

The carrots were *delicious.* Just putting that out there.

And while I'm here, do you have the photos for this (mini)meet? Minimom wanted to see her puki crawling all over everything (why do I always forget my camera). I'd be happy with the raws, if you wouldn't mind emailing 'em to me.
