*blinks* They're already in the mail?

September 28th, 2009 (05:43 pm)

Yep, got an email from Pullip Style saying the Taeyang guys (or is it Tae Yang?) have been posted.

*blinks*

Already?

Well, I guess if it's a pre-packaged item, unlike a bjd, they would be ready to ship as soon as they were pulled from the stockroom.

I've done a tiny bit of research on these dolls since my fucked-up back kept me home today. Seems the 'stock' bodies on the Tae Yangs are stronger than the Pullips but still not that sturdy. I'm used to posing my resin as I wish so I'll have to be more careful with these guys. I was reading a Phillipines Pullip blog about how it may be best to replace a broken Tae Yang body with an Obitsu body instead of trying to fix the Tae Yang body. So, the next question in my mind is - it better to change the body out while they're new (keeping the stock body pristine for resale) and wear out the more 'robust' Obitsu body for playing purposes?

Also, if they come in boxes, should I save them to help with the resale?

I thought I had some Obitsu male bodies floating around here somewhere, under the chaos. I may just purchase some more after getting some advise from dark_skada on skintones, etc.

Still working on names. Maybe Taeyu and Shuyang. Or Taeki and Shutae. Or Yuyang and Taechi.

Type 3 Body Art

The Taeyang bodies really are the best bodies by Pullip out there. They are NOT that bad. If you're not careful with shoes, ankles will snap. And occasionally there's a bubble in the plastic that'll screw up an arm or leg - but it's really really rare. 98% never rebody, and you can always buy a new boy body if one breaks (they're on the second-hand market all the time).

Obitsu male bodies have weaker spines, and are not as pretty. They have better wrists and ankles, and changeable hands, but they're shorter and skinnier. It's a give-and-take either way.

If you want to do it though, I'm here to help. As always :D

Shuichi looks out the window

I guess I need to stop jumping the gun and wait for them to actually get here before making any plans. I'm used to having stuff ready for resin before each arrives but that's not the case with these guys. I'll have to look at their bodies and compare them to Obitsu abs and other bits, too.

I've watched the first two episodes of the anime with Rayne in it. He likes to show off his stomach. Anime News Network calls it a male harem genre. Yup, full of bishies.

Hey! Blame dark_skada! LOL! She's the evil Pullip enabler!

I could see you do Harry Potter characters in Taeyangs easily!

hahah of course they ship fast onna~ XD (unless you preorder them two months in advance.. or ship from china *not doing that again*) I've only had problems with the ankles snapping, and one of my boy's neck is really loose it looks almost like it will pop out. But with the ankles it's not hard to pull the whole foot off to take shoes off. Also had a problem with staining, but I'm sure you've seen that on a pullip board too.

Can't wait to see your boys!! : D Stop making me want to buy another Taeyang woman! ><;

Shuichi in sunglasses

Yeah, I've heard about the ankles and the staining.

The Rayne will be in black 'leather' so I'll probably have to watch that. I may have to get him some khaki shorts and an orange hoodie to get him into the Shuichi mode AND keep his body from getting stained. The Andrew will eventually be in different dress pants but in his default shirt/tie. The pants will be mostly black so I'll probably have to wash them first.

AND time to start looking in the small Ken clothes box for anything remotely appropriate.

pat

never had a problem with the black leather before, it's the shoes! be careful with them. My shade came with brown shoes and I'll be darned if those things didn't stain his feet a bit. And I mean, right out of the box. lol looks like he stepped in poop, poor guy.

Eiri and Eeyore

I'll watch out for the shoes. Knowing me, the Andrew will get poop feet.

o.O So how come I decide I'm gonna get a few pullips and you and shannon both beat me to it? Okay I can blame that on L's job situation, but still...

Glomp! - Ki and Chi

You already have a Pullip in the family, even if it's L's, so we didn't beat you to it.

For me she still doesn't completely count.... She's very much L's and not mine.
