Visual Design for New Media - using dolls for art #1

So I thought I would post some of the images using dolls I've done for the class I'm taking, Visual Design for New Media. It's a basic 2D design class. I like retaking a basics class every decade or so to utilize my latest skillset. It helps me think outside the box again.

Anyway, this first one deals with lines that express emotion. Basically it's working with lines beyond the typical ones usually used.

I used my four little boys for this one. I took a series of photos with them lined up against a textured fabric background then hit the chosen image with lots of filters and layer modes. Then I drew each set of lines on a separate layer so I could move them around where I wanted them.

Models: DOB Pisce, LTF Shiwoo, Volks Kuuta, DZ BB Jing

Ohh looks lovely Onna! I really really love the color choices you used. The texture is a really nice touch too. Can't wait to see more art from you class! :D

Thoughtful - Eiri

Thanks! I had fun with this one. Genny really wants everyone to use at least three photos/graphics and put them together but she doesn't count off on mine because she knows I'm setting up complex compositions for the camera.

I copied the top right edge and flipped it to the left side for balance. I'm pleased how the background fabric came through with both the folds and the textures.
