clothing patterns

In keeping with DoA's rule about off-topic things, here's a call to the locals who sew concerning clothing patterns. I have boxes and boxes of regular clothing, craft items (American Girl sized doll clothes) and period clothing patterns (Tudor/Elizabethean/Cavalier and Victorian) and I need to get rid of them all. I don't want to send them to Goodwill when you could benefit from them.

Sorry, I don't have time to take photos of them. I think I have six to eight of those blue and white pattern boxes stuffed full of patterns.

Maybe we could meet at Wendy's in Richardson (just because we'll need to get back to cleaning out stuff after we meet) some night and you can look through the boxes and take what you want. Yeah, I'm giving them away for free but a little bit of cash would be nice if you have it (some of the period stuff was expensive), but not essential. I know we're all on tight budgets this month.

I would be interested. The American Girl stuff would be good for makign Samantha some new clothing. What night is good for you? We are mostly free this week, that I know.

Do you need help with anything?

Chikara - cute

I don't know what night yet because I'm in a fucking frazzle at the moment.

Let me dig out the patterns and bag them up for you and we'll work it out from there.

richila wants to look at the Victorian patterns. I'm thinking we need to meet more centrally now.

Sharp-Dressed Man: Hatori

These are Victorian human-sized from 1850 to probably 1880s.

Shannon wants the doll clothes patterns. Shall we coordinate on when we all can meet at the same time?

I'd really prefer if we could meet in Richardson, but do we need to meet a little closer to downtown Dallas so you don't have to drive so far out?

I can make it as long as it isn't Wednesday. (choir)Yes, I want the people patterns. They will be too small-but making a pattern bigger is easier than making it smaller for me.
Are you moving apartments-or have you found a house?

Moving apartments. I wish we could have found a house to upsize but we're downsizing due to a closet loss. I know we have room to move the pattern boxes but it's really pointless to keep them around anymore since I'm not sewing.

Eventually I'll need to dump my three sewing machines. I have a $3000 Bernina with gobs of extra feet, attachments and software I'd like to sell if I don't get the urge to stitch again, but the Bernina shop was incredibly unhelpful about where I could try to sell it locally. So the machines will move with me.

Let's try to shoot for Thursday at the Wendy's. I'll have to see about Shannon (I think she'll be fine) and Axeonos' availability times.

patterns!

I wish I could afford to buy your Bernina! It sounds super! BUT I'm poor and jobless and maybe can afford to get some of the patters you have. Richardson is a trek during the week but I think I can do it. Any idea of the TIME you are planning to meet people at the Wendy's? Need to know so I have an idea of how I'll get there! THANKS :D

Okay, how about this Thursday, January 21 at about 7pm (to get beyond the evening traffic) at this Richardson Wendy's?

Hands - Shuichi and Eiri

Where are you located? Richardson is a suburb of Dallas, close to Garland and Plano.

I'd like to do this on Thursday, if possible.

I can drive to just about anything in the Plano/Richardson/Decatour area. This week and next are good since David is not on-call.

I'd also be interested in any Halloween type costumes or anything for Steampunk. But I'll take left overs after everyone else, since the American Girl and similar patterns are my biggest area of pattern need at the moment.

I too can bring some money as a thank you for sharing.

How about Thursday?

I've got Halloween costume stuff, too.

I might be a little late, I wanna make sure I eat before i come since i'm a bit pennieless atm. See ya thurs!

Sounds good!

You can look through the mob of stuff and see what's available.

I'd send a lot of it to the retirement community but I don't know if they'd appreciate all the stuff all at once.

I will strive to be there as close to 7 pm as possible. Sammy was sent home today and has Strep Throat...so no returning to school until Friday. If all goes well and I can get to work by 1:30 I'll make Richardson by 7 pm w/no problem.

I have Mel's number - I'll call if I get stuck in traffic or at work.

Onna - if you have any general craft supplies/items you just want to get rid of, I can take things to the library or daycare.

We're bringing a butt-load of stuff tonight - fabrics, a few craft items, craft books, patterns.

Mel won't be there until later so call rat at 972.207.1405 if you get hung up.
