fox rescue

October 13th, 2010 (12:33 pm)

current mood: happy

I was able to get my fox this morning so he's sitting in my office looking a little smug.

He's absolutely wonderful. Such an attitude!

The pink slip was in my mailbox yesterday but he was held hostage overnight at the Post Office because the truck hadn't come in yet when I tried to get him last night. So I stood in line this morning and opened him here at work.

My new Chaos Crew member is BETTER than advertised and photographed - faceup and body blushing looks great to the point I'll probably not add any faceup fur to him anywhere. I was considering putting some fur on his ears but now I'll probably rig some kind of custom wig instead. Photos don't do him justice. The ones I took don't show all the subtle details of his body blushing.

The seller included the outfit so he's not sitting around my office naked and showing off his boy bits. The clothing will also be a good starting point for me to try sewing for him, if I get the chance with everything else going on. I may have to ask someone local to whip something up for him until his suits come in. And I bet he'll reject the suits and want something else, knowing my luck.

He hasn't told me his name yet, but he will eventually, probably when he meets the rest of my Tiny Terror Troop.

Though the last hour or so he's been niggling at my brain - that he may be the Court book-keeper (so he will like the suits) and his name is Slick Kantner. Those of you old enough or music-savvy to 60s-70s musicians will recognize where that name comes from...

Arrival photos are few and will be posted eventually.

Ha ha. I get the reference, both because I am old enough and music savvy to 60s-70s musicians. Grace Slick was my idol.

I'm glad the newest crew member is everything you hoped for and more.

Hands - Shuichi and Eiri

Last week I listened to some recent interviews with Grace on YouTube. Also, I was talking to one of my workers and suddenly remembered two songs from a little-known Slick/Kantner album, Sunfighter.

Silver Spoons and When I Was a Boy I Watched the Wolves.

The workers made a comment about never hearing a song about cannibalism and I said one existed.

Grace certainly liked -- likes? -- to push boundaries. That's one of the reasons I like her. I've never heard the song, but considering what she and the group sang about -- threesomes (Triad), cunnilingus (Miracle) -- I wouldn't be surprised if it were also a veiled reference to oral sex.

So I guess you must be a fellow Grace Slick fan? I'm not as fond of Paul -- his voice is not as good as hers, his songs not as quirky, and he has some dour, authoritarian aspects to his personality -- but the Airplane wouldn't have been what it was without him.

Shuichi Sultry

Supposedly she wrote it as a reaction to their pushy vegetarian neighbors.

I choreographed a dance to the song and performed it at the dance recital that semester. Most everyone else was doing ballet, jazz or show tunes.

It's rather ironic, then, that she's a vegan.

Nom Nom Nom!

Yeah, it's quite amusing.

She may have gone that direction due to that illness she has that makes her feet burn all the time so she has to have fans blowing on them 24/7.

I could go mostly vegetarian if I could afford the produce! Yeesh! We found some good deals (finally!) at the grocery this week so I've been plowing through strawberries and salad like crazy. I can easily go through a carton of berries of any kind in a flash.

My stomach is growling - off for a bowl of Special K.

Foxy - Nasake

You may have missed a few but I haven't purchased any this year except this guy.

And I did pay off someone else's doll that was purchased in 2006 by someone else who was able to win it (Volks Shirou Tachibana v2) and was holding it for my friend as she paid a little when she could manage it.
