Crochet Dresses

July 4th, 2011 (09:28 pm)

current mood: creative

A few crochet doll dresses behind the cut.

Using sweetiemom's Puki dress on DOA as the base, I used a light weight (3) self-patterning yarn called Breeze, an E/3.5mm hook and an extended single crochet instead of a regular single crochet to make this dress for my LTF Ante, Garnet. The hat used the same stitches and I just 'guessed' a pattern for it. I added loops in the back of the dress for buttons.

This is another Puki pattern I changed, this one by Eloena on DOA.

I used #10 thread, a US5/1.7mm hook and the extended single crochet instead of single crochet again:

My two models, DZ V1 Bunny (Brie) and Pukifee Shiwoo (Mirin)

Thinking the bodice may not fit the fatter body:

It may make a cute jacket:

The bodice looks larger on the Pukifee:

The dress completed and fitting the DZ Bunny:

It's a little large on the Pukifee but I think part of it is because of the extended SC:

I decided to add a contrasting ruffle using an arm ruffle modified from sweetiemom's Puki pattern:

I also added a button and loop on the back:

Yes, you should try one of the patterns out there!

Back when I was sick in 2010 and not out on DoA much a crochet thread got started and I've found a few patterns there.

Plus sweetiemom just sent me some patterns!

And I've joined Ravelry so I can post my work there and maybe start a BJD crochet community. They only have one for Lati Yellows and everything is knit I seen so far.
