Bunnies wearing Crochet

July 17th, 2011 (03:35 am)

Two bunnies: Kearnan's Edward on the left wearing a hat I made her, and my Brie on the right, with the dress and hat I made her.

Note I added a border to the dress. Both heads were made without patterns.

Crochet - with Rusty

Are you going to use yarn or thread? The left hat was made with Vanna's Choice acrylic I found on sale. It's okay yarn but it likes to split. I prefer Patons acrylic yarn (soft!) but the shop that carried it closed due to the owner retiring.

I avoid Red Heart because it likes to split, too, but it's good for crochet toys. It's cheap and comes in large skeins.

If you go to JoAnn's they have a nice self-patterning and soft yarn call Breeze. I haven't seen any lately, though.

I don't use any wool because I'm allergic to it.

The outfit on the right is out of #10 DMC cotton thread. I also use Aunt Lydia's #10 cotton thread.

Just go to the hobby shops and see what feels good to you AND is in the price range you're willing to pay.
