doll thoughts

You will need the Japanese IME to see the Japanese...

My Mo-to-be has told me his name: 情け, also spelled なさけ, also spelled Nasake. I am putting the emphasis on the first syllable - NAsake and I am gliding a little over the 'sa'. It means sympathy or compassion. He is not a light-weight, though. He pretty much 'pushes' hard to 'convince' you to be compassionate. He is definitely a fighter and will be dressed as a Japanese warrior of some kind.

Chikara uses his 'power' in devious ways - the kind of power that wears you down. He fights with charm and sneakiness.

The two of them have caused all sorts of havoc against each other on the battlefields or during a monarch's discussion with his court, courtiers and advisors.

Naturally, they are brothers.

I also had a revelation about the Mini Fee Shiwoo last night. He is not going to be Duo Maxwell, after all. He will be a mini Shuichi and I will find a slightly taller MSD to be a mini Eiri. I decided to do this partly because of the issue about large Shuichi's look. I had seriously considered getting the large Shiwoo for Shuichi at one point but chose the Soo Ri because of the elbow joints. This way, the mini Shiwoo will have the 'cuteness' most people expect from Shuichi. I will probably use a DZ for Eiri, at least a body. I understand the CP BW resin matches the DZ so this might be the way to go. More research is needed.

With the micro Eiri and Shuichi (Elf Ellys), I will eventually have three sizes of Gravi boys to play with - what fun! And the three sizes will pester each other all the time.

I will probably get heads to cut costs and storage space. Nasake and mini Eiri can share a body if I am able to work out the sculpts.

As to my elf... Well, I still want a Wing, but he may have to go on the backburner for a while. If DZ would come out with a good 70cm head sculpt for Eiri I would get a Wing and an Eiri head and switch them out. The CP Moon would be a decent enough choice for Eiri's head and the resin would match, at least that's what has been discussed lately out at DoA.

I have been very limited with my head choices because of the height choice I am wanting for Eiri. If I could get a perfect head from another company that would fit on either a DollShe or large DZ without modding and with matching resin, that would be perfect.

Shuichi Sultry

'Something' in the back of my head has been keeping me from buying much of anything lately, which is good, since we got hit with expenses with the eviction scare and there is a chance we may break the lease and get a rent house.

I desperately want these other dolls, and a large Eiri, but I will just have to wait a while.

Perhaps I will find an Eiri at y-con...

*whistles* You've really thought out your original characters. I'm a bit shabby by comparison. I knew Agge when I bought her, Olo's just telling me random bits about himself as we go along, and the same with -sn. I guess I'll be making it up in trifold when the totally developed Schuldig and Crawford character dolls roll in...

Nasake. Good name, nice hard 'N' to start with a sibilant middle and light end.

You'll have all sorts of (expensive) fun dressing him and getting him props, I'm sure.

When you use words like that, it reminds me of Loke and Raven, two other characters that were amusing tricksters. Raven is part of my native folklore, and while he was a source of comedy, he was also a menace, and a giver of good things (usually by accident... he'll set about to free "all the fish in the world", so he can eat one for himself... and accidently free all the fish in the world, to all the people in the world, etc).

You will have an Army of Shuuichis if you have your way. The energy created by so much concentrated Shuuichi will wreck havoc on weather patterns.

(When you use words like that, to describe Chikara)

Shuichi Sultry

Actually, they just 'come' to me. I don't do a lot of real thinking. It is like my writing and drawing muses - they come, I create. I don't ever push it.

I missed a GREAT leather outfit with duster on eBay - I just could not justify the final price it sold for, even with the included knives. It really was not that expensive, but the money muse is being a meanie and not letting me get away with much at the moment.

My mother's husband got me a set of three books for Xmas one year, covering myths in North, Central and South America. Raven is like Coyote in many ways, too. I find it fascinating to find that trickster in almost all folklore, no matter the culture.

I have other academic myth books, too. Love the study of them in of itself.

Not only will I have an army of Shus causing havoc on weather patterns, I will have an army of Eiris causing dark clouds to lurk over heads and angst waves to strike the earth!

Books on myth can be very fascinating, especially books which expound on the mass-psychology, imho -- such as Joseph Campbell.

I was a little alarmed when I saw all your Shu plushies, I admit. I just kinda went, "Oo that's a whole lotta Shuichi..." and for some reason, I couldn't help but think about all the 'noise' they'd make... like a bunch of ducks holing up at a pond, contendedly quacking away (probably a few aloof ducks in the corner, little puffs of annoyed smoke airing off their heads).

I have a book or two by Campbell around here somewhere. One I started was a bit too dry.

I am hoping to eventually commission one of the plushie artists at the Marketplace to make tiny Shu and Eiri plushies for my dolls.

What an image! I laughed HARD about the quacking ducks! What makes it even more appropriate is the fact my campus's mascot is the 'thunder' duck - we have mallard ducks in the lake that bisects the school - and my folks live in the Duck Creek area - the 'lake' is only a block away from them and it is filled with wild mallards and some domesticated varieties.

Both our apt's pool and my folks' pool get mallard visitations on occasion.
