con tags and baby harness

August 29th, 2006 (10:45 pm)

The new con tags fought me but they are finally done. The blade was probably gunked up with the tape glue but I was too lazy to either clean it or change it. The 'laminate' is a little jagged along the edges but it really doesn't make much difference for something that will be needed for four days.

The guys are wearing them now. I really need to get them dressed for the con soon. Chikara and Hatori will wear the same clothes each day but Shuichi needs something different for each of the four days.

I stuck the little Shu and Eiri bangles I got at akon on Shu's badge because they are just too cute. I hope the artist will be at animefest - Chikara needs a Kyo for his badge, Hatori needs something Fruits Baskety for his badge and I should get something like Sesshoumaru for Nasake, to hang from his y-con badge.

I found a baby harness tonight so Shu will be riding in it this weekend.

Initially I had him sitting like a real baby and he was so funny looking with his legs all splayed out like a frog. I folded the front flap down and around so it was inside and padding Shu. I ended up putting him in sideways with his legs hanging out of one hole and it worked better. It will be nice having Eiri sitting behind him and holding him possessively, when I can finally find the meanie.

Sounds like you might have a good little system there. I take it you didn't much care for the sling you used last time?

Chikara

The sling I used last time left my left arm out of commission for two weeks after the fact. We are talking about severe pain from shoulder to fingertips. I am left-handed so it really screwed me up for a long time.

Besides, I cannot find the damned thing! I thought I had put it in a bag with misc doll stuff that went to my folks' place but I could not find it there.

This new sling will put the weight on both shoulders and add a little support around the torso. I will also wear a rib brace to support me or I will not survive one day, let alone the entire weekend.

I have been coughing a lot the past couple of weeks so my chest and back are already hurting me - I don't need to blow it out any more than I have to.

Ah yes, I remember. I didn't know it was due to the sling, though...it's probably for the best you can't find it then.

Hopefully this new sling will work out for you, it sounds kinda like it ought to, in theory.

Do take it easy, though. Need to make sure you're kept on the mend, right?
