and it's off!

Email away!

I held Shuichi as I pushed the button. Maybe his desire for Eiri will help send it on its way.

I have a snowball's chance in hell to win a Bermann but I participated in the 'fun'.

Now I need to go work on some sewing for Shu.

Good luck to you, too! It would be nice to have SOMEONE in our local area to get one of those pretty boys!

And my offer still stands about me adopting Trystan as my new Eiri if you win and I don't!

Nasake - name

Nah, I don't think it would work. The request had to be done with a Tensiya account ID and I would be concerned about if they would accept a credit card from a different billing address as the account. eidolontree offered, too, but I just was hesitant about it. Some of the folks at DoA were concerned about the same issue. If I DID win, then lost him because of that detail, I would NOT be happy.

You know, I very nearly tried, myself. I recently said, that I opted out of Bermann-mania, not because I don't find them attractive, but because I find them inacessable. (I further went to say, Bermann is like a diamond tiarra, sure, it's sparkley, but I don't want to wear one every day).

I continue to like the sculpt... and hell, I think the next time one goes up, I'll try for myself if you haven't gotten one yet. But I still suspect I'll consider him more of a scuplture than a character. He doesn't inspire me the way my List inspires me.

However, I agree, he would pull off Eiri rather well.

I am honestly not sure how he'd look standing side by side next to a Soo Ri, though. Soo Ri has a slightly 'anime' quality to him, it's part of his eyes. Bermann prides itself on its rather human faults, that "homliness" that the naysayers adore. He has all the charm of the rejected, is able to pull off bitter and punk and alive and well... but... his style and Soo Ri's style are rather disparate to my view. Not greatly so, but enough to cause me a wee squint.

If you got a Bermann, I think you'd need a blank to really pull it off. IMHO, if you are to chase the unattainable, Omicron would be a closer style choice. *cough* Of course, it's all IMHO. Your vision of him is something I am unable to see.

3rd email in a row. >< Your most recent post isn't showing up on my friends list, isn't that odd? That's why my replies wound up here, as I thought it was the most recent.

It is strange this one is showing up, since this is the one I had to go back in and readjust the time back to local instead of Korean.

It is strange, because I've refreshed my flist quite a few times, and it still hasn't shown up yet. I've checked quite a few times, and it still hasn't shown up. My list has been updating, but it doesn't update very fast... and, not there. Huh. But, my flist has done that to you before, I suppose...

It looks like I should have used my rarely used Gmail account. Those who did won a Bermann. The tensiya account is gmail, too so it probably liked those accounts first.

If you put the Soo Ri next to many other dolls, they look anime, especially those sky jump noses and super-large eyes. It's all perspective - the Soo Ri looks for real compared to other dolls and more anime compared to a Bermann.

I just wish I could see one next to a Soo Ri.

But for now, the slightly modded Husky head (nose and chin sanded to get rid of the pointiness) will have to be my Eiri playtoy.

Well, there will probably be at least 1 Bermann and possibly 1 Omicron at Yaoi-con. Maybe comment on the thread and politely ask if they'll let you compare the two? I know that one person who is going to the con recently got an Omicron...

I went through this stage where I read the thread and did a search on all the dolls that everyone who was going owned, to see if possibly I could do some more personal reasearch while I was there. If you remember, when I said "I mostly want to see the dolls", a couple people even asked which dolls, so they could make sure to bring them.

Also, yeah.... I was going to use my gmail account for my Bermann attempt, before I suddenly thought, "Why?" and after that... I didn't.

Gmails are sent gmail-to-gmail almost instantly, almost like an IM. I should have mentioned it, I just kind of assumed you knew, that everyone knew, as soon as they released the ordering email's address. An order sent from a standard email address has to bounce from server to server, while it'd be quick, it wouldn't be instant. A gmail doesn't need to bounce very far at all, relative to a normal email.

Another idea, would be to find a korean email address, and use that next time. Make an email with google China or Korea, that way you'll be using an email, located on a cluster that's even closer to Tensiya than normal gmail address. Use it with fair regularity... I don't know, use it to join websites and shops, that way you don't forget the password, and it's actively being used.
